Jay Hurst

Lancashire born artist Jay Hurst began his career at an early age writing and illustrating his own stories before most of his peers could read. This developed into a lifelong fascination with literature and art which led quite naturally to his initial occupation as an illustrator, specialising in science fiction and fantasy illustration. He is particularly well-known amongst collectors of the genre for his Terry Pratchett illustrations.

After an award winning career in illustration, Jay became increasingly dissatisfied with the rigid demands of publishing and eventually made the decision to abandon illustration entirely and strike out in his own direction, finding inspiration through involvement with his immediate surroundings. Currently living and working Chester, he is making a name for himself as one of the most interesting and accomplished fine artists of his generation.
